Education and future for poor children.
School in Nairobi

The school in Nairobi is located in the district of Githurai, in one of the slums of Nairobi.

In 2012, 35 children were taught there.
During the week, the room for church service is turned into classrooms by means of movable walls.

New classrooms
Through donations in January 2016, two more urgently needed classrooms could be built next to the community's church.

These new classrooms made it possible for further pupils to be admitted.

In June 2016 a long-awaited wish became reality. A land for the construction of a new school in Githurai could be acquired.
The aim is that one day a new, functional school building is available for all 8 classes.

In November 2016, the first classroom was built. For the first time made out of stone.

This classroom is the beginning of the planned three-story school building with classroom, teacher's room, library and computer room.

In January 2017, two additional toilets (privy) and a corrugated iron fence could be erected by further donations.

Teaching can now take place in this new classroom.

It is a privilege and very encouraging to see how God is motivating people from different groups and communities to invest in the projects of Pastor Geoffrey Mon`gare.

Thanks to the donation from HMS, this construction project could be done)

Photovoltaic system for the school
In Githurai, power outages occur repeatedly. Sometimes for a few hours, sometimes for several days. Therefore, an independent power supply was of great benefit for a reliable power supply.

2025
A photovoltaic system with a battery system will be installed at the school. This will cover the school's entire electricity needs.
This was made possible once again by a donation from HMS.

2025
The state school authority had been pushing for a second emergency exit for students for some time. Thanks to another donation from HMS, this emergency staircase was completed in July 2025.

Projekte 2025 / 2026

Projects for 2025 and 2026:
The school has to continue to develop in order to meet the needs of its students and provide them with an education that will enable them to shape their future.
For this reason, there are several projects for 2025 and 2026 in develoope the school accordingly.

New plot of land
A plot of land (red area) opposite the school has been put up for sale. It costs approximately €20,000.
The purchase of this plot is particularly important as it is directly adjacent to the plot that has already been purchased (green area). This would create a contiguous plot of land for the expansion of the school.

The purchase of this land would also enable us to take another step toward building a vocational school.
We want to offer students who leave school the opportunity to pursue vocational training.

German language lessons
We also want to enable students to pursue vocational training in Germany. However, this requires a B2 language level. We want to prepare students in the last three grades with appropriate language lessons. A teacher will be hired for this purpose.
